Logistics and end-of-line systems for insulation products

Insulation logistics connects packaging, storage and loading. It combines pallet trains, telescopic conveyors and automated stores to organise the movement of packs and semi-finished products.

Separate flows for pallets and packs

An end-of-line unit can load a pallet train to group transfers. Manual loading of packs or rolls uses a telescopic boom conveyor to bring products towards the loading point.

Upstream, an automated store receives semi-finished products. The number of rows and columns is based on the stock to be held and the available space.

Line functions

Grouped pallet transfers at the line outfeed.

Pack delivery towards manual loading.

Automated intermediate storage management.

The telescopic boom brings the conveyor closer to the area where the operator handles packs or rolls. This arrangement aims to reduce movement during loading.

Conveyor selection depends on the size, weight and presentation of the products being handled.

Intermediate storage manages boards between manufacturing stages. Locations are arranged in rows and columns rather than scattered holding areas around the plant.

The store is defined by the references to be held, their volume and the interfaces with production stations.

Grouping pallets into trains organises transfers after packaging. Where a complete truck load must be prepared, storage can be combined with a stacker and conveyor-based load assembly.

This second application is described in the insulation board stacker crane page.
