SOLUTION
Bonding and laminating lines for insulation boards
Bonding and laminating lines assemble insulation boards. FIMEC SH combines handling with the bonding process, using a multifunction robot, a gantry or a three-robot layout.

Multifunction robot: rate
2 boards/min in the illustrated configuration
Bonding integrated with board handling
The line coordinates board presentation, assembly and transfer to subsequent operations. The layout depends on formats, production rate and the operations surrounding bonding.
Machining, cutting or painting processes can extend the line. Downstream packaging can include marking, labelling, wrapping and skid insertion.
Line functions
Gantry: rate
4 to 6 boards/min in the illustrated configuration
Three robots: rate
4 to 6 boards/min in the illustrated configuration
The multifunction robot groups operations around a single unit. The gantry and three-robot layout provide other ways to distribute movements. The rates below relate to the illustrated configurations; area throughput also depends on board size.
| Configuration | Rate (boards/min) | Capacity (m²/h) |
|---|---|---|
| Multifunction robot | 2 boards/min | Depends on board size |
| Gantry process | 4 to 6 boards/min | Depends on board size |
| Three-robot layout | 4 to 6 boards/min | Depends on board size |
The enquiry should identify the boards to be assembled, their dimensions, the surfaces to be bonded and the finished product requirements. These inputs establish the process and handling arrangement.
Adhesive and pressure settings are not common to every laminate; they are defined for the application.
Processes surrounding laminating can include machining, cutting and painting. At the outfeed, product or pallet labelling, marking, hooding and skid insertion prepare loads for handling.
The automated palletising solution covers load formation after these operations.
