SOLUTION

Automated palletizing systems

Automated palletising builds loads at the end of production. For insulation products, it combines pack preparation, gripping and placement on pallets or insulation skids to suit the required packaging.

Products

Panels and mineral wool packs

Supports

Racks, pallets or support blocks

Gripping

Multifunction grippers

Sequence

Centring, turning and gluing

Flexible palletising unit : Width of the pallet

0.8 m to 1.3 m

Pack preparation before placement

Mineral wool packs can be centred, turned and glued before pick-up. The multifunction gripper handles the formats specified for the line; palletising patterns arrange packs horizontally, vertically or in crossed layers.

The support determines the load to be built and how it is discharged. An end-of-line system can accommodate pallets, long multi-pallet loads or insulation skids, depending on the selected configurations.

Line functions

One gripper for the defined production formats.

Placement patterns matched to the handling supports.

Pack preparation integrated upstream of the robot.

Flexible palletising unit : Length of the pallet

1 m to 3 m

Load height

Defined with the palletising pattern

Flexible palletising unit : Capacity

Up to 5.5 cycles /min

On a pallet, the placement pattern defines pack orientation and the sequence of layers. Rack loading serves a different need for panels transported on a dedicated support.

Solar panel identification and inspection are covered in automated order preparation.

The insulation palletising example below operates at up to 5.5 cycles/min. This rate describes unit cycles; pack throughput depends on the number of packs handled per cycle and the placement pattern.

Pallet-free packing replaces the wooden support with skids made from the same material as the packaged products. These skids can be reused as insulation on the construction site.

Support and pack positions form part of the palletising pattern. The pick-and-place unit is described in the insulation palletising robot equipment page.
