Steel flights for forming and curing ovens
Steel flights for forming sections and curing ovens make up the conveyor bed supporting the mineral wool mat. FIMEC SH designs, manufactures and adapts these flights for existing conveyors.
Application
Mineral wool forming and curing ovens
Construction
Stainless sheet on steel structure or all-stainless
Engineering
Finite element analysis
Delivery
Assembled sections available
Assembly
Section inspection bench
Flights designed with the conveyor
Manufacture can start from customer drawings or ACC range drawings. Where a flight deforms, finite element analysis helps examine stresses and revise the design.
Construction combines stainless sheet with a steel structure, or uses an all-stainless arrangement for forming. Connections with rails, chains and drive components are considered alongside the flight.
Design and manufacture
As-fabricated flight flatness
0.6 mm according to drawing requirements
Machined flight flatness
Drawing tolerance based on flight size
Conveyor assessment
Bed, rails, guides, chains and sprockets
Flights are assembled in sections on an inspection bench. Flatness inspection is defined by the drawing and whether the part is as-fabricated or machined.
A 0.6 mm tolerance is indicated for as-fabricated flights according to customer requirements. For a machined flight, the drawing specifies the tolerance for its size; no single figure applies to the whole range.
A conveyor assessment can cover the bed, rails, chain guides, chains and sprockets. It helps investigate poor drive engagement or deformation.
Delivery in assembled sections can be accompanied by conveyor flatness adjustment. Sealing between components is also considered to limit leakage in the forming section or curing oven.
