Longitudinal cutting of insulation boards

Longitudinal cutting divides the insulation mat along its direction of travel. FIMEC SH defines the saw arrangement around the required widths, product thickness and production line layout.

Products

Insulation boards

Cut

Longitudinal, along the direction of travel

Tools

1 to 6 saws, depending on the required widths

Thickness

Up to 300 mm in the reference configuration

Integration

Insulation production line

How it works

The saws are distributed across the mat width. Their positions define the strips delivered to subsequent stations. The conveyor presents the product to the tools and carries away the cut boards.

Key features

Board widths established within the production line

Saw quantity matched to the required formats

Cutting coordinated with adjacent stations

The cutting pattern specifies the infeed mat width and required output widths. It determines the number and positions of the saws.

The illustrated configuration uses one to six saws and handles thicknesses up to 300 mm. Selection takes account of materials and the formats to be alternated.

Longitudinal cutting defines width; cross-cutting determines board length. Both stations are coordinated with mat travel.

Edge trimming handles the outer edges. Offcut removal is arranged alongside conveying and is distinct from cutting the usable board formats.

To define the station, specify widths, thicknesses, material and the frequency of production changes. Required tolerances and operating rate complete the cutting brief.
