Stacker cranes for heavy loads

Automated heavy-load storage is defined by product weight, geometry and support. The stacker crane receives the load at the store entrance, puts it away and retrieves it at the service station.

Logistics example: load

Up to 3,500 kg

Example product length

1,000 to 6,000 mm

Example product width

Up to 1,300 mm

Example product height

Up to 2,700 mm

Function

Automated storage and retrieval

The load determines storage and handling

Sizing considers the load together with its carrier. Length, width and height determine storage positions, while pick-up and placement points define the handling interfaces.

One logistics configuration in the range accepts loads up to 3,500 kg. The dimensions in the specifications refer to that configuration; they are not universally combinable limits for every product.

Line functions

Mechanised storage and retrieval of heavy loads.

Store sizing based on the product and its carrier.

Transfer interfaces coordinated with the served stations.

Paper reels are one application for heavy and bulky product storage. Their handling involves shuttles, gantries and stacker cranes; the paper industry solution details the stations.

To prepare a study, provide the weight including the carrier, overall dimensions, pick-up surfaces and required movements. For reference management and picking, see pallet and package stacker cranes.
