DESIGN & ENGINEERING
Engineering for bespoke industrial projects
Feasibility studies, preliminary designs and bespoke projects: FIMEC SH develops handling solutions for heavy and large products, with particular attention to your process and existing equipment.
FROM REQUIREMENT TO PROJECT
A technical study shaped by your production
Explore the topics covered at each stage of the study.
Feasibility studies
We examine your products and the operations required. Constraints are identified before selecting a handling principle.
- Your starting point: a product, a workstation to automate or a difficulty on an existing line.
- Points assessed: dimensions, weight, fragility, support points and the sequence of operations.
- Decisions to prepare: possible technical options, missing information and matters requiring site verification.
Preliminary design
The preliminary design positions equipment in the workshop and connects operations. Production flows, storage and workstations are assessed together.
- Useful data: layout, expected infeed and outfeed, working hours and product range.
- Interfaces: conveyors, production machines, storage, operator stations and controls.
- Choices to resolve: transfer arrangements, existing installation constraints and the scope of the future system.
Bespoke projects
The selected approach provides a basis for designing special-purpose machines, robotic cells or complete lines.
- The framework: operations to automate and product characteristics agreed with your teams.
- Coordination: supply boundaries, connections and the role of equipment being retained.
- Preparation for delivery: installation conditions, expected tests and operating arrangements.
APPLICATIONS
Expertise in heavy and large products
Our work spans construction materials, mineral wool and bio-based insulation, laminated materials, paper, metalworking and industrial intralogistics.
01
Heavy products and construction materials
Carousels for precast concrete products, robotic gantries and packaging lines for heavy products.
02
Panels and insulation materials
Panel manufacturing and packaging lines, bonding, machining and lamination, plus end-of-line handling for insulation products.
03
Storage and intralogistics
Stacker cranes for long or heavy products, order preparation cells, palletising and bespoke robotic cells.
EXISTING INSTALLATIONS
Develop your lines with their technical history in view
The FIMEC SH team includes experienced Alfi Fimec specialists who designed and installed production lines. Their knowledge supports the assessment of existing equipment and the definition of upgrades.
The acquisition of drawings, programs, diagrams and manuals, together with service and spare parts activities, gives FIMEC SH a technical reference for this work. The strategic partnership with CLEIA supports this new organisation.
LET’S DISCUSS YOUR REQUIREMENTS
Give your study a clear starting point
These details help structure an initial discussion with our technical and sales teams. Share the information already available for your project.
Check the information already available. The remaining points can be clarified during our discussion.
- Products: type, dimensions, weight, carriers and handling constraints.
- Installation: available plans, retained equipment and interfaces between operations.
- Production: target rate, peak activity, working hours and range of formats.
- Storage: references, quantities and required retrieval order.
- Controls: identification methods and existing management systems.
- Installation work: access, possible shutdown periods and expected developments.
